Obituary for Daniel M. "Dan" Tourtellot

Dateline: St. Johnsville, NY
Daniel M. Tourtellot, 46, of Crum Creek Road, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 16, 2013. He died at the Ellis Hospital due to medical complications. Dan was born on October 4, 1967 in Niskayuna, NY and was the son of the late Elmer E. and Marjorie “Midge” (Cooper) Tourtellot. He had lived in St. Johnsville, NY for the past six years and was formerly of Clifton Park, NY, where he was raised. He was a Shenendehowa High School graduate and earned his Master’s degree in history from SUNY Albany. Later, Dan attained a degree in Pastoral Studies from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY. For several years he worked as a bookkeeper at Shults Insurance Agency in Fort Plain, NY. Dan had a deep connection and love for his extended family - Israel and Stacy Handy. He was known as “Uncle Dan” by their children, Elizabeth, Samuel, Evelyn, Benjamin and Nathaniel. He was the nephew of Charlotte (Tourtellot) Willey of Florida; great-nephew of Elise (Keeler) (Tourtellot) Perkins of Idaho; cousin of Stella (Evans) Tourtellot of Charlton and Barbara (Tourtellot) Foti of Scotia. He is also survived by several other cousins and one uncle.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 12 Noon at Clifton Park Center Baptist Church, 713 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY 12019.
Interment will be in the Clifton Park Center Cemetery in the Spring where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church.
