Obituary for William L. "Bill" Eldridge

Dateline: Ballston Spa, NY
William L. Eldridge, 92, of Grove Street, died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born on August 29, 1921 in Ballston Spa, NY and was the son of the late Helena (Buckley) Eldridge. Mr. Eldridge was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged on October 21, 1945 as a Technician Fourth Grade. His career with the Scotia Army Depot brought him to New Cumberland, PA for 30 years until his retirement as a Supervisor. Following retirement he settled back in Ballston Spa, NY. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (McCarthy) Eldridge who he married on May 24, 1947. Bill is also survived by a niece, a nephew and his loving extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Bill and Mary’s home, 41 Grove Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Ronald Matulewicz on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballston Spa, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to the American Foundation for the Blind, 2 Penn Plaza, Suite 1102
New York, NY 10121.
