Annette M. Parillo, age 72, died on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa, NY with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 13, 1942 in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late Carmine and Anne (DiCaprio) DeNisio. Annette was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School class of 1960. On November 10, 1962 she married the love of her life, Joseph F. Parillo. Together they raised two children in Ballston Spa and Clifton Park, NY. They went on to have 52 beautiful years together. Their faith, love and dedication to one another both in good times and bad is a model of true partnership, love and commitment. Annette’s career began as a training instructor and supervisor for Cluett and Peabody in Troy, NY. She also worked as a supervisor and quality assurance director for Ursulla of Switzerland and other textile companies in the area. She was the proud founder and co-owner of Annette’s Apparel, Inc. in Schenectady. Annette was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, NY where she served as a Eucharistic minister and member of the prayer shawl ministry. She was devoted to visiting the sick and homebound. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and having friends and family for dinner. Holidays were always special in Annette’s home.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Parillo; loving mother of John M. (Jessica) Parillo of Clifton Park and the late Joseph F. Parillo, Jr.; adoring grandmother of Nicholas and Kyla Parillo; caring sister of Carl “Bernie” (Carolyn) DeNisio of San Antonio, TX and the late Joseph DeNisio; sister-in-law of Rita DeNisio of Pattersonville, NY. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive her. She also leaves behind her beloved and devoted dog, Missy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY.
Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit and pay respects on Wednesday from 10 AM – 11 AM at the church prior to the mass.
Burial of her cremains will take place at a later date in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Edward the Confessor Church Building Fund, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 or to Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
Annette and her family are ever so thankful for the love and care shown to them throughout her illness and would like to thank her primary doctor Kathleen Downey, MD and her professional staff as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of NYOH especially Dr. Schlossburg and Dr. Olds.
