Obituary for Joyce B. Pearce (Phillips)

Dateline: Ballston Lake, NY
Our beloved and beautiful mother, Joyce B. Pearce joined hands with Jesus to be with Him for eternal life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was 78 years old. She was born on June 18, 1936 in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late Glenn and Annie (Sproul) Phillips. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School, class of 1955 and later attended Spencer Business Institute and also Schenectady Community College for interior decorating. She was employed a number of years ago at VSK in Burnt Hills, NY and Weiss Realty in Latham, NY. Joyce always had an eye for decorating and an idea for everything. She was well known to be an avid hoarder! She would keep everything! She had many animals through the years and she loved them so. She often took in strays and loved them. She would sometimes say, “You can love and trust animals more than people.” She will be so very missed.
Joyce was the 1st wife of Richard I. Pearce of Lake Side Farm for over 18 years. She was the mother of Jeffrey Glenn Pearce (Denise), Lisa Ann Martin (Gary) and Richard P. Pearce (Lori); grandmother of Michael Eaton (Camryn), Christopher Pearce (Chelsea), Nick Pearce (Sabina), Cody Pearce, and Benjamin Pearce; great-grandmother of Alexis and Aubriella; Aunt of Jim Phillips (Loretta), Debbie Pollock and Terry Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
