Obituary for Rosemary Ann Struzenski (Graber)

Rosemary Ann Struzenski (Graber)
DATELINE- STUART, FLORIDA
Rosemary Ann Struzenski, formerly Rosemary Graber of Stuart, FL and Clifton Park, NY died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the age of 83 in Boston, MA. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy NY and has served most recently as a volunteer at Treasure Coast Hospice and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart, FL.
Born on May 22, 1933, in Troy, New York, she was the only girl and second youngest of 5 brothers. Her father, Hugh Graber, died when she was 3; her mother Anna Mae Broderick then managed the household of six young children. In 1955, Rosemary met her future husband Joseph Leo Struzenski while working at Behr-Manning in Watervliet, NY.
For nearly a decade, she also inspired and played surrogate mother to countless teenagers while working at Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, NY. Years later, many would reach out to her long after they had graduated to seek her advice or just to be in her company.
As committed as she was to her various activities, she was most devoted to her family. Married for over 45 years, she was happiest when they were together spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends and enjoying life together in Florida and New York. With the passing of her husband, Rosemary devoted herself to many causes that were important to her. From providing hot meals to those in need to supporting the local hospice, she contributed not only her time but her optimistic spirit and her boundless energy. Ever the extrovert, Rosemary’s great joy was to be surrounded by the laughter of her friends poolside in the warm Florida air.
She is survived by a son Jeffery J. (Amy J. Axelrod) Struzenski of Wellesley Hills MA; daughters Nancy J. Struzenski of East Syracuse, NY, Kimberlee A. (Robert E.) Chase of Dover, MA; grandchildren Matthew and Jessica Giannino, Nicholas and Leah Struzenski, and Colby, Emily, Kate and Lily Chase. She is also survived by brothers Paul Graber and Jack Graber.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Townley and Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Rd, Ballston Lake, NY 12019.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel at Siena College, 515 Loudon Rd, Albany, NY 12211.
