Ernest W. Martin, Jr., 54, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 21, 1963 in Troy, NY and was the son of Ernest W. Martin, Sr. and Darlene Kuscsik Martin. He was a graduate of Stillwater Central School District. .
Ernest was a production employee in the field of global digital printing for Jondo, USA, located in Malta NY. In his spare time, Ernest loved the NFL and was an ardent Washington Redskins fan. He was also a talented little league baseball player and a lifelong fan of the sport. He especially loved the NY Yankees. Ernest also enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Ernhart, Jr.
In addition to enjoying spectator sports, Ernest was also an avid outdoorsman. He vacationed in Maine every year, returning to the same spot he had visited ever since childhood. He also loved to go deep sea fishing. He was lovingly known by his family and friends as a family oriented, kind and friendly person.
Ernest met his wife, Mary Beth in Lake George and the couple were married on September 18, 1999. Together, they enjoyed their family and vacationing in Maine. .
In addition to his beloved wife, Ernest leaves behind his loving parents, Ernest and Darlene Martin, Sr. and his father and mother-in-law, Geraldine and John Badcock. He is survived by his brother, David (Lorraine) Martin and sister, Darlene A. (Keith) Collins; his sister-in-law Barbara (William) Vadney and his brother-in-law, Mark (Cheryl) Badcock. Ernest is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
All are invited to attend calling hours at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00pm – 7:00 pm.
Funeral will begin on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 9:15 am at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville, NY.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Edward the Confessor Church Building Fund.
