Obituary for Sandra J. "Sandy" Hoeg

Dateline: The Villages, FL
Sandra J. “Sandy” Hoeg made a peaceful exit from this life in her sleep on Monday, October 16, 2017. She was doing what she loved most – visiting her daughter and family in Clifton Park, NY. Sandy was born on December 3, 1942 in Kansas City, MO and was the daughter of the late Otis J. and Edith M. (Alcorn) Fleming. She was raised in Tarrytown, NY and was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School. For many years, her work as a teller at Bank of New York and Chase Bank brought her enjoyment. Later on, she was extremely pleased to work as an accounts payable specialist at Dress Barn in Suffern, NY. Sandy was a vivacious woman who had a contagious laugh and a yearn for socializing. She was the “splash” that is made in the pool of life. Always dressed to the nines and accessorized, she made her way to the Red Hat Lady affairs and volunteered her time at the hospital as a personal transit escort and greeter. She loved her children and distance was no impediment to her relationship with her only granddaughter, Cassandra.
She was the beloved wife of George Hoeg; loving mother of Jennifer (William) Carraher of Clifton Park, NY, George Hoeg, Jr. of Sebastopol, CA & New York, NY and the late Jessica Hoeg; devoted grandmother of Cassandra Carraher.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St., New City, NY 10956.
Funeral will begin on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:30 am from the funeral home and process to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Rd., W. Nyack, NY 10994 where at 11:30 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in Germonds Presbyterian Cemetery, 39 Germonds Road, New City, NY.

A memorial service will be held at Hiers Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgwood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162 on Friday October 27, 2017 at 2 :00 PM. The family will receive friends and relatives following the service until 4:00 PM.
With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Sandy’s Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com
