Obituary for Susan G. Keeler

Susan G. Keeler, age 66, of Vischer Ferry, passed peacefully in the loving presence of her beloved family at home. She was born on August 22, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Willard Adam and Virginia (Galletly) VanVranken, Jr. Susan was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, class of 1969. She had a rewarding career of 31 years at Shenendehowa beginning as cook manager at Okte and later moved to be an inspiring special education aide at Shatekon. Sue had a joyful, kindred spirit. Her family and friends were the fabric of her life. She cherished her time with her family camping trips and outings. She served loyally with the Vischer Ferry Fire Department Auxillary as an active member and officer for over 30 years. Sue’s greatest love was her family and she was especially devoted to her grandchildren, her special friends and all of her students over the years.
She was the loving wife of James Grant Keeler; caring mother of Melissa (Michael) Wheelock, Tara (Lucas) Wheeler and Jonathan (Jessica) Keeler; adoring grandmother of Calvin, Coleman, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn and Karsyn. Sue is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long loved extended family and friends.
